Meet Hanna Lee, Acupuncturist

  • Hanna Lee

Hanna Lee, LAc, Dipl. OM, is a Virginia and Maryland State Board Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist, and Diplomate in Oriental Medicine certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Hanna Lee is 2nd generation Acupuncturist and has spent over 15 years studying and practicing Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in the US, China, Korea, and New Zealand. She had a variety of treatment styles used in many countries.

She began acupuncture school at Henan University of Chinese Medicine (HUCM) in China in 2005. She earned a Bachelor's degree of Medicine in Clinical Traditional Chinese and Western Integrative Medicine from HUCM in China, where she studied both Chinese medicine and Western medicine. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) from Virginia University of Integrative Medicine (VUIM) in Virginia and a National Diploma in Acupuncture from New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine (NZCCM) in New Zealand.

Through her educational background and clinical experience, she believed that Western and Chinese medicines are inseparable. They are necessary and complementary to each other not opposites. Primarily she supports patients who had non-medically severe disorders, but the pain interferes with their daily activities, patients who had unpleasant side effects after surgery, and patients who had moderate pain but did not want to get surgery or medicine.

Traditional Chinese medicine is a holistic medicine that is a form of healing that considers the whole person-body, emotions, and spirit- for wellness. She also believes the disease came from physical, emotional, or spiritual imbalances in their lives, and she takes a holistic approach to the patient's care. Her goal is to help patients improve their general health and well-being by restoring their minds and bodies.

She specializes in pain management (back, neck, shoulder, and knee pain, headache, TMJ syndrome, and others), rehabilitation from stroke, orthopedics, internal medicine, digestive issues, weight control, women's health, emotional disorders, and others. She has successfully treated many complicated medical conditions.

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

  • "I've been going to see Bill at the wellness center off and on for the past ten years. This past year, I've suffered from upper body pain -- all of which were resolved through acupuncture. Recently, I have had an intense flare up of pain and 90% of my pain vanished after two treatments with Bill. He's very caring and thoughtful and the front desk are pleasant and conscientious."
